We assemble interdisciplinary teams of policy experts, technologists, and data scientists to collaborate closely with our partners, addressing critical challenges across public policy.
RIPL (Research Improving People's Lives) was born at Brown University in 2015, driven by a vision to harness data science and technology for enhancing public policy and improving lives. In 2018, we evolved into an independent nonprofit, broadening our ability to collaborate with government agencies and spearhead data-informed solutions to complex social challenges.
Throughout our journey, we've built an impressive portfolio of impactful partnerships and innovative projects. As a Google Public Sector partner and member of the Amazon Partner Network, we leverage state-of-the-art cloud technologies to power our cutting-edge solutions.
Our collaborations span multiple state governments—including Rhode Island, New Jersey, Colorado, Arkansas, Hawai'i, Maryland, and Washington—as well as federal agencies. Together, we develop and implement data-driven initiatives across various domains: workforce development, education, public safety, healthcare, and economic mobility.
