Dr. Joe Long is a Senior Data Scientist on the Science Team where he primarily works on program evaluation both internally and for external partners using causal analysis and machine learning techniques. Prior to joining RIPL, he worked as a Research Associate at Innovations for Poverty Action studying the effects of international poverty alleviation policies using randomized controlled trials. Joe holds a PhD in economics from Northwestern University specializing in labor and development economics. Currently, Joe lives in Chicago, and when he is not working to improve people’s lives, he likes to cook food, play guitar, make art, and enjoy cat.
