Dr. Chyn is an Associate Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics at The University of Texas at Austin, and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He is a member of the Human Capital and Economic Opportunity (HCEO) Global Working Group, a Faculty Affiliate at the Wilson Sheehan Lab for Economic Opportunity at the University of Notre Dame, and a Faculty Affiliate at the Economic Self-Sufficiency Policy Research Institute. He studies topics in the fields of labor, urban, and public economics. His recent research uses quasi-experimental methods to study the impact of government programs on outcomes of children.
